• Q: What heater material should I use for a corrosive acid?

• A: This depends on the acid, concentration, and temperature. 316L stainless steel is good for many mild acids. For highly corrosive acids, we recommend materials like Hastelloy or Teflon-coated elements.

• Q: Can you design a multi-zone heating system for my reactor?

• A: Yes, this is a common requirement. We can design a system with multiple independently controlled heating zones to accommodate different process stages or prevent product degradation at the bottom of the vessel.

• Q: What is the importance of a thermowell?

• A: A thermowell allows for the removal or replacement of a temperature sensor without draining the reactor or breaking the process seal, which is critical for safety and process continuity.

• Q: Can you provide heaters that meet ASME or PED pressure vessel codes?

• A: While the heater itself isn't always a pressure vessel, we can design it to be compatible with ASME or PED compliant vessels and use materials and construction that adhere to the relevant codes.

• Q: How do you prevent coking or scaling on an internal heater?

• A: We design with a low watt density to keep the element surface temperature as low as possible. Proper agitation of the reactor contents is also crucial to prevent localized overheating.

• A: Please provide the reactor size, the chemical being heated, required temperature/pressure, heating time, and whether an internal or external solution is preferred.
