The world's leading provider of industrial heating and energy solutions, Sinton Group, recently announced that it has successfully implemented a non-invasive electromagnetic coil heating renovation plan for the temperature issue of the heat transfer oil system at Jiangsu Sanmei Chemical Co., Ltd. during winter. This plan, without damaging the original pipeline system, helped the client increase the temperature of the heat transfer oil from 305°C to 330°C, ensuring the stable operation of the production line throughout the year, and leading to a subsequent cooperation for the installation of 8 sets of high-power heating equipment.
Industry pain point: Heating bottleneck in low-temperature environments
In chemical production, the heat transfer oil system is the core part for heating reaction vessels. However, changes in environmental temperature can easily lead to seasonal imbalance in heating. Among the 6 boilers of Sanmei Chemical, two of them are unable to reach the 330℃ temperature required by the process throughout the winter, seriously affecting the reaction efficiency. The traditional renovation plan requires dismantling the pipelines, which is costly and takes a long time. However, the customer clearly requested to retain the original pipeline structure.
Innovative Solution: Precise Application of Electromagnetic Heating Technology
After on-site investigation by the Sinton Group technical team, a secondary heating solution was proposed, which involves wrapping electromagnetic coils around the outer surface of the DN125 20# steel pipeline. This design only requires the removal of a local layer of insulation. Through the induced current, the pipe wall generates heat directly, achieving rapid heating and precise temperature control. Its core advantages include:
High efficiency and energy conservation: The heat conversion efficiency of electromagnetic heating is much higher than that of traditional resistance heating, and there is no loss due to open flame conduction;
Precise temperature control: The power adjustment accuracy reaches ±0.5℃, and it supports automatic adaptation to external temperature fluctuations;
Safe and reliable: No explosion risk, in compliance with chemical explosion prevention requirements;
High adaptability: For media containing sulfides, 20# steel is recommended to avoid corrosion and leakage.
The technical details are in line with industry standards.
Pipe material selection: The scheme adopts 20# seamless steel pipes in accordance with the GB/T 8163 standard. They can withstand a pressure of 1.6 MPa and a temperature of 350℃, fully meeting the high-temperature working conditions of the heat transfer oil system.
Pressure vessel specifications: The heater is manufactured strictly in accordance with pressure vessel standards. It undergoes a pressure test at 1.5 times the design pressure to ensure its sealing performance and structural integrity.
Structural optimization: To address the potential hazard of the high-temperature wiring chamber, a heat dissipation area has been added to prevent the cables from burning.
Sustainability and Economic Benefits
Energy-saving effect: Compared with gas temperature regulators, electromagnetic heating reduces energy consumption by over 30%, and saves over 200,000 yuan in energy costs annually;
Second collaboration: Based on the excellent performance of the first set of solutions, Sanmei Chemical increased its purchase of 8 sets of 160kW electric heaters, which will be used for upgrading other production lines;
Environmental protection value: No combustion exhaust emissions, helping enterprises achieve their low-carbon production goals.
Customer Testimony and Industry Significance
"The solutions provided by Sinton Group not only addressed the winter heating bottleneck but also significantly reduced the renovation costs with their non-intrusive design," said the project manager of Sanme Chemical Industry. "The technical collaboration between the two parties exemplifies the perfect combination of innovation and practicality in the industrial heating field."
This cooperation has also provided a model for heating upgrades in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and energy industries in low-temperature environments, especially suitable for the renovation of old systems and harsh conditions.
Future Outlook
The Sinton Group will continue to deepen the integration of electromagnetic heating technology and the AIoT platform. Through predictive energy management and adaptive temperature control algorithms, it will drive industrial heating to evolve towards "zero carbon emissions, high precision, and full-chain intelligent control".
