How to Select the Right Heating Technology?

For operating temperatures of 600°C or below, conventional metal heating elements are generally a cost-effective and well-established heating solution.

For temperatures between 600°C and 800°C, Incoloy 600 or Incoloy 800 series heating elements can be considered.

For temperatures above 800°C and up to around 1100°C, resistance wire direct heating or electromagnetic coil heaters can be considered.

For temperatures between 1100°C and 1800°C, non-metallic high-temperature heating elements, such as silicon nitride heating rods, molybdenum disilicide (MoSi₂) heating elements, and silicon carbide (SiC) heating elements, can be selected according to the specific process requirements.

The key to furnace electrification is not simply selecting a heating product. The appropriate heating technology needs to be matched according to the heating medium, operating temperature, and available power supply.
